Flatbed trucks are used mainly for the transportation of construction material and machinery. They are long, flat carriers with no side or roof, so material can be stacked, often in pallets. Since flatbeds are open, long carriers, freight that reaches significant height and length or that is unusually shaped can be transported on them.
